I know my son....

Last week when Mom and Dad were gone to Florida they had a friend of ours, Rusty, busting up their cement driveway. Wade begged EVERY DAY to go over and help load up cement so it could be taken to the back of the property. He really enjoys working with his hands so we went to Tractor Supply and got him REAL work gloves. I decided to get some gloves for Logan as well because even though he likes to work more with his mind, he really needs to learn to work with his hands more. ;) So - I'm outside with the boys and just completely in awe of how different they are from each other. Wade is feverishly working beside Russ and loving it....while Logan is looking fairly bored and lifting up small pieces of cement only to sigh and lay them back down. Funny thing was...I knew what he was thinking.

So I go over to Russ and turn by back towards Logan. I said "Russ - look at Logan. He's looking for things of "value" that he can sell and make money on". We both suppressed our chuckling and I said "Ask him what he's doing" as I started to quickly walk away. A couple seconds later I turn to hear Russ say "Hey Logan! What are you doing bud?" Logan's reply was "Oh......I don't know....*sigh*.....I'm just looking for things of *sigh* value....*sigh*...that I can sell and make money on."

Do I know my son or what?!?!?!?!?

Camden

Camden has a tendency to crawl in bed with Jason and I. A lot of the time - we just wake up - and he's there! Last night Camden went to sleep with Jason while I worked on packing etc until 3am. Since Cam has a tendency to move a lot - I carried him to his own bed...and, at 7am we woke up with him in ours! Now, Jason has a hard time letting a sleeping kid sleep! He just feels the need to rub their faces, pinch cheeks, and even moving them closer to cuddle. I must say - it's something that I usually just LOVE...my husband LOVES his kids. However, sometimes....I don't want the kids to wake up! Today is one of those days. So...Jason starts messing with Camden...next thing I know...he lifts up Camden's leg and I hear a huge fart! Of course - I look at Jason thinking...couldn't you do that in the bathroom?!? Jason falls on the bed laughing because apparently - that was Camden!! Thankfully he stayed asleep...but it was a great start to Jason's day....

Typical Logan....

Going to the cottage is supposed to be a 3 hour trip. Now having the kids - it usually takes 4 hours. So on our way up recently, Camden and Wade fell asleep. Logan....who is NEVER at a loss for words...asks "How much longer until we get there?" Jason said "55 minutes". Logan said "So what should we talk about for the next 55 minutes to help pass the time?"

Not really a "funny" story....but something I wanted to document...you know...for his sake ;) haha

Not if you're the chicken.....

This morning my mom called me on the way to drop Logan off to school and asked if Wade could go to the post office with her to pick up her chicks. Of course, Wade has been asking every day when the chicks would come...and I was running late to school...SO...I dropped him off at the end of the driveway and he ran up to the house. On my way back I called my mom and she told me how Wade was holding the box of chicks...and how he was being gentle with them. She had told Wade to be careful with the chicks because if he dropped one they could break a leg. He said "break a leg!?! that mean's you're lucky!!!!" "Not if you're the chicken!" mom said.

Logan.....hahaha.....

Thursday Logan had a field trip w/ his class to a teddy bear factory, park, and then the Jiffy plant all in Chelsea, MI. Of course I have to drop the ball somewhere along the line - and I forgot to pack lunches. Not too big of a deal...especially since I drove! :) So, the time comes for lunch and Logan and I head to Taco Bell...on our way back he says "Mom, do you think when I turn 16 I can hold a serious relationship?" I replied "I'm sorry...what was that!?!?" "a serious relationship"...."I'm sorry - you have to start from the beginning because I didn't quite catch the whole thing" He said it again "Do you think when I turn 16 I can hold a serious relationship?"
What a loaded question for an 8.5 year old boy. Thinking about my parents at 15 meeting and staying together...me at 18....there's an honest chance of that happening to him....so I told him "Well...if you are living your life for God and no one else...and the girl you want to date is doing the same with her life, then yes - I think you could hold a serious relationship at 16. You're thinking about marriage aren't you?" Logan said "Yes...I'm thinking about Karley and me...I'm not sure if she's the girl God wants me to marry someday...I was just thinking about it".

I have 2 more stories of what he said yesterday....but that'll have to wait for now...I'm at the cottage w/ a book and hammock calling my name! ;)

Are ya cold Camden?!?!

The poor child...we could help but laugh! We had offered to wrap him up in a towel...but he said he wasn't cold! haha! The only thing I wish...is that we started videotaping earlier...watching him try to open up the candy was hilarious as well!

Camden was misbehaving!

I received a phone call from Camden's teacher a few weeks ago....and I saved it so I could post exactly what the teacher said...too funny!!

April 1, 2009

"Hi Heather this is Barb Harlow just calling to let you know that Camden had a little bit of trouble behaving in the bathroom today. I told him I was going to call you to let you know. He was actually crawling under the stalls when people were in there going to the bathroom. and then he chose to crawl under all one whole row of stalls and lock all the doors. So he was crawling on the floor in the bathroom and locked all the bathroom stall doors. So...that was really inappropriate which I know you know that. He didn't like the fact that told him that I was going to call and tell you that and he said he was going to tell his daddy then...and so I said I'm sure that you will tell him that you did what you were doing that in the bathroom. So I just wanted to let you know that I told him that that's not a good thing to do at school, not a good thing to do at the store, not a good thing to do at a restaurant, wherever he is that he has to go to the bathroom. He can't walk in on people or crawl under the door, or crawl under and lock the doors. So I just wanted to let you know just so you're aware and he's standing right here so he knows I told you. Thanks."
